Complete Your Account Setup Tasks in the Terminal

To ensure you can quote, bridge, and bind policies without interruption, all agencies must complete their required Account Setup Tasks in the Bold Penguin Terminal.

If any required tasks are incomplete, you may see an attention message when attempting to bridge to a carrier or bind a quote. This message simply means there’s one (or more) setup steps still needing your attention.

Once all required tasks are complete, the Tasks box will automatically disappear from your Terminal homepage.


Where to find your Tasks

You can always find your required tasks on your Terminal Homepage → Tasks Box

This box will remain visible until all required tasks are fully completed.

Required Account Setup Tasks


Task Name: “Add Carriers”

This is your first required task and MUST be completed to move forward and prompt your remaining tasks.

What’s Required to Remove This Task: You must add at least one carrier to your Terminal.

Why This Matters: You can’t quote or bind until at least one carrier is connected to your account.

How to Complete It:

  1. Go to your Terminal

  2. Select Add Carriers

  3. Choose at least one available carrier

  4. Save your selection

✅ Once one carrier is added, this task will automatically clear.


Task Name: “Compliance Questions”

What’s Required to Remove This Task: You must submit the compliance form in full.

Why This Matters: This questionnaire collects the necessary information to process and approve market access appointments. Since market access-appointed agencies will be binding business under Bold Penguin's master code with the Carrier, we require agents and their agencies to be in good standing.

How to Complete It:

  1. Click the Compliance Questions task

  2. Complete all required fields

  3. Submit the form

✅ Once submitted, this task will clear automatically. However, please be aware that the Compliance approval process can take up to 48 hours to complete after task submission/completion.


Task Name: “Agency Documents”

What’s Required to Remove This Task: All required documents must be uploaded and complete, including:

  • W-9

  • E&O Insurance Verification (Policy Dec page or COI)

  • EIN confirmation

  • Any additional required business documentation

Why This Matters: Incomplete or incorrect documents will:

  • Delay compliance approval

  • Block market access appointment processing

  • Prevent binding

If your documents are incorrect, a Bold Penguin Support team member will reach out for updated information. To expedite processing, please provide the needed information promptly.

How to Complete It:

  1. Click the Agency Documents task

  2. Upload each required document

  3. Ensure documents are:

    • Not expired

    • Correspond to the licensed entity (agency or individual principal)

✅ The task is removed only when all required documents are successfully uploaded.


Task Name: “Commission Payouts”

What’s Required to Remove This Task: You must add a valid bank account to be paid commission.

Why This Matters: This ensures you can be paid commissions earned on policies placed through a market access appointment and the Placement Desk. We only pay commissions via direct deposit.

How to Complete It:

  1. Click the Commission Payouts task

  2. Enter your bank account information securely via Plaid OR request an ACH DocuSign form from finance (ach@boldpenguin.com)

✅ Once your bank account is added, this task will automatically clear.

🔒 Security Note: Your bank information is used only for commission payouts.


What Happens If Tasks Aren’t Completed?

If one or more required tasks are still incomplete, you may see an attention message when trying to:

  • Bridge to a carrier

  • Bind a policy

This message simply means that you have an outstanding task(s) that must be completed before continuing.

This is not an error — it’s a safeguard to ensure:

  • Your account is compliant

  • Your carriers are properly activated

  • Your commissions can be paid without delay


What Happens When All Tasks Are Complete?

Once all required tasks are finished:

  • The Tasks box disappears from your Terminal homepage

  • Your account is officially considered onboarding-ready

  • You can quote with any activated carriers and the Placement Desk.

  • Market-access appointments are being processed with the carrier(s).

Once your required tasks are complete, take some time to complete your Optional Tasks:

  1. Invite New Users

  2. Configure Carrier Settings
