What Is the Placement Desk?
The Placement Desk is a risk placement service inside the Bold Penguin Terminal that helps place commercial insurance risks with carriers not directly appointed to an agent.
Submit the application once.
Carrier submissions, underwriting follow-ups, and quoting are handled by the Placement Desk.
Stay focused on the customer while placement logistics are managed.
Use the Placement Desk when:
No direct or market access appointment exists
The risk is out of appetite for appointed carriers
Speed is needed without any appointment setup
Broader market access is required as a captive agent
The risk is hard to place
A carrier appointment was lost due to volume
👉 If a direct or market access appointment exists, submit there first for higher commission and full policy control.
How It Works
What “Request Placement” Means
Clicking “Request Placement” asks a Bold Penguin Placement Specialist to:
Submit the risk to the appropriate carrier(s)
Work directly with underwriting
Gather quotes or next steps
Coordinate binding and payment if moving forward
This is not a direct carrier submission.
What Happens After “Request Placement”
Once “Request Placement” is clicked and the terms are agreed to:
A Placement Specialist receives the submission
The Placement Specialist submits the risk to the carrier(s)
If additional information is needed, the Placement Specialist will contact you via email or phone
The Placement Specialist will email eligible quotes (if available)
You work with your insured to decide whether to bind
What you don’t have to do
