Updated over a week ago

Step 1. Log in to your Bold Penguin Terminal account at https://terminal.boldpenguin.com/

Step 2. In the top left corner, click on the drop-down menu and select Appointments:

Step 3. In order to activate RT Specialty, click the toggle on the carrier card tile. A purple toggle denotes it has been activated.

Step 4. Begin a quote application in the Terminal:

Step 5. During the application process, you will be prompted to complete additional questions in order to obtain a non-admitted market quote. Select COMPLETE QUESTIONS to continue:

Step 6. Once you have completed all additional questions, you will be brought to the quote presentation page. Select CONTINUE TO QUOTE to proceed to the RT Specialty Connector portal:

Step 7. After continuing to the RT Specialty Connector portal, you will be prompted to log in.

If you are already appointed with RT Specialty and have access to the Connector, no further setup is required.

If you are already appointed with RT Specialty but do NOT have access to the Connector, please skip to Step 9.

If you are NOT currently appointed with RT Specialty and wish to obtain an appointment, select New User/ Register:

Register for an RT Specialty Appointment: https://rtspecialty.com/agency-appointments-bp/

Complete all required fields and click Submit. The RT Specialty team will email you to gather any additional information, including a completed W-9 form and a copy of your agency’s E&O certificate with an annual policy limit for each occurrence of at least $1,000,000.

Once all required information has been submitted to RT Specialty, the RT Specialty team will begin processing your appointment. Appointment processing is typically completed within 24-48 business hours.

To receive your Connector credentials, you’ll need to attend one of RT Specialty’s weekly training webinars, held every Tuesday at 3 PM EST. Make sure you register and actively complete the mandatory training to trigger the credential issuance process, as access cannot be granted without completing this step.

Once you attend, you will receive an email containing your agent number and access code needed to register for the Connector (carrier portal access). Check your email inbox (including spam/junk folders) for an automated credential email after attending the training. If not received, follow up promptly to avoid delays in access.

If you need assistance locating your number and access code, please click the green chat icon in the bottom right corner of the RT Connector registration screen.

Step 9. Access to The Connector:

Agents can register for The Connector by visiting https:/about.rsgconnector.com/ and completing all required fields* of the registration form, clicking SUBMIT, and completing the email verification.

You are now ready to quote and bind RT Specialty policies.

You may retrieve RT Specialty quotes by logging into The Connector.

*RT Specialty's integration with Bold Penguin Terminal relies on email address consistency. If the registered email in the Connector does not match the one used for the Bold Penguin Terminal, quote tracking and retrieval will fail. Always ensure both accounts use the same email address to avoid connection issues. This misalignment can disrupt seamless quote tracking and functionality, potentially leading to access issues or process interruptions. Proactively verify email alignment across platforms to ensure smooth operations.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Check your email consistency: Ensure your email address is identical across Bold Penguin Terminal and RT Specialty.

  • Complete mandatory training: If not attended yet, register for the RT Connector webinar to receive credentials.

  • Verify automated email receipt: After attending the webinar, check both inbox and spam for your credential email.*
